Library

• Students are benefited by a 2-way system of library facility namely, he central library and the seminar library of the respective department.
• The central library has approximately 90,000 titles with particularly rich and rare collection of Persian, Urdu and Arabic literature including manuscripts.
• Both central library and seminar library of the various departments offer lending services, reading room services and reference service for students teachers and scholars.
• Both central library and seminar library provide reference services with some useful journals.
• Library provides internet facilities.

A student can neither seek transfer certificate, nor be sent up for university examination without a clearance from the library.

Play Ground

• The college has its play ground at 33, Gorachand Lane near Park Circus and adjacent to this there is a Club House.
• Outdoor games like Football, Cricket and Athletics afe played in this ground.
• The annual sports meet is held during winter in every year in this ground.

Hostel
Limited accomodation for bonafide students are arranged in two hostels. Baker Government Hostel is unger direct administrative control of Maulana Azad College. It is located at 8,Samith lane, Kolkata-700013. It provides seat to Muslim students who donot permanent residence in and around Kalkata.The hostel hasthe facilities of a mass, a library, indoor and outdoor games.

Eden Hindu Hostel is under administrative control of Presidency College but provides limited number of seats to students of this college. The premises are at 3, Piyari Charan Sarkar Street, Kolkata-700073.
All admission in the hostels are subject to availality of seats and strictly on the basis of merit subject to fulfillment of domiciliary condition.

Seminars
Seminars are held regularly in different departments throughout the year involving the studentsand the teachers.

Co-curricular Activities
The college provides ample scope for all round development of a student. Apart from
Sports facilities stated above the college arranges debates, quiz competition, cultural events and seminars. MAC festis held every year with a lot of enthusiasm. Annual ‘Mushaira’ (Kavi Sammelan) is in itself a very important cultural event attended by eminent poets.
Every year the college magazine is published during the autumn and writing in English, Bengali and Urdu from teachers and students alike are encouraged.

The college is an epitome of harmoney and amity where both Saraswati Puja and Milad-ul-Nabi (Birth anniversary of the Prophet) are celebrated with equal zest. National events like Independence Day, Republic Day, Netaji’s bnithday are celebrated with due importance.

Discipline
Maintenance of discipline in the college campus is our foremost concern. There is a committee headed by the principal which lok after the academic and other related issue pertaining to discipline and empowered to take any disciplinary action when needed. The committee meets the guardians of errent students from time to time.

A student on admission has to give an undertaking in writing to the effect that his/her name would be struck off from the list of enrolled students if he/she does not regularly attend classes. He/She would not be allowed to sit for the College Examination and would be detained if his/her attendence falls below the university norms (i.e. 75% of total number of class held).

Evalution
Evalution of the progress of the students is done through periodical tests and annual examinations. 2 periodical tests are held in a year apart from the Annual Examination and Test Examination. The departments, however, hold additional tests. All these and the regularity of attendance are given equal weightage for promotion and sending up a student for University Examination.
